Why Am I Here?

Whether you're here for yourself or someone you care about, gambling has had a negative effect on your life. If you're worried about your own gambling habits, you may feel that your gambling is out of control. When you lose, you "chase your losses," losing more in the attempt to gain back what you have lost. When you win, you keep gambling in search of ever larger winnings. You've tried to cut back. You've tried to quit. You've lied about your gambling to family, friends, and even to yourself.

If you're here for a friend or someone you care about, you're worried about what gambling is doing to his or her life, and perhaps to yours as well. You may have seen signs of financial distress, personality changes, excuses and deceptions to cover up time spent gambling and to hide losses. You may have tried discussing the issue, but the problem persists or even gets worse.

Should you seek help? Take one of our quizzes to find out. Answer twenty questions and if you answer "yes" to seven or more, seek help.
