1. Are bill collectors constantly demanding payment of overdue bills?
2. Is the person in question often away from home for long, unexplained periods of time?
3. Does gambling cause this person to lose time from work or school?
4. Do you no longer trust this person with money? 5. Does this person repeatedly promise to stop gambling, only to gamble again and again? 6. Does this person ever gamble longer than intended, unable to stop until the last dollar is gone?
7. Does this person keep gambling after losses, trying to recover, and after wins trying to win more? 8. Does this person gamble to get money to pay debts or bills, or have unrealistic expectations that gambling will result in wealth and financial security?
9. Does this person borrow money to gamble or to pay gambling debts? 10. Has this person's reputation suffered due to gambling, or has he or she ever considered or committed an illegal act to finance gambling?
11. Do you hide money needed for bills and living expenses so it won't be used for gambling? 12. Do check on this person's activities or search through his wallet, her purse or other personal belongings looking for evidence of gambling behavior?
13. Has this person lied to you about gambling behavior or about financial, professional or personal problems caused by gambling? 14. Have you noticed a personality change in the gambler as gambling progresses?
15. Does the person often seem tired, worried, sleepless, or stressed out because of gambling?
16. Does this person blame you or others for his or her gambling?
17. Do you attempt to anticipate this person's moods or try to control his or her life? 18. Does this person ever suffer from remorse or depression due to gambling, possibly even to the point self-destruction? 19. Has gambling threatened to break up the family? 20. Do you feel that his or her gambling is making your life a nightmare?
